1-year Program Overview

Welcome

The Western Pennsylvania Community for Psychoanalytic Therapies is proud to announce the continuation of its 1-year educational programming series, Contemporary Psychoanalytic Concepts in Everyday Life, scheduled to begin September 14, 2023.

Classes are held the second Thursday of every month, from 6:15pm - 9:00pm, starting September 14th

The Community was created in 2020 as an independent, nonprofit educational foundation to bring innovative and progressive approaches to training in psychoanalysis. Our educational programming highlights the current trends and theoretical underpinnings of contemporary psychoanalytic technique and theory. We see contemporary psychoanalysis through a kaleidoscope of lenses, including: intrapsychic, interpersonal, and societal. Training involves active-learner engagement with the class material, with an emphasis on experiential learning.

Our programming welcomes mental health practitioners working in diverse fields of psychotherapy and social services across the Western Pennsylvania Region.  We are committed to decreasing financial barriers to robust educational experiences by providing subsidized tuition costs and low-fee consultations.  Our Contemporary Psychoanalytic Concepts in Everyday Life one-year educational program will be tuition-free and will provide enrolled participants with continuing education credits at no cost.

Classes are held in the offices of our faculty, all located within the city of Pittsburgh.  Classes will be held in person. CDC guidelines for group gatherings will be followed.
